ABOUT CATHI
I'm Cathi, a writer and creative based in Southern California, where I've learned that the best ideas usually arrive somewhere between the ocean and a really good book. Becoming a children's book author was an unexpected turn in my life, but I've found that these stories can be impactful for children and adults, and have been deeply powerful for me.
I've spent the better part of my career inside nonprofits and churches, working as a storyteller, communicator, and consultant, helping people and organizations find the words to express the things that matter most to them. The work that still lights me up is sitting with someone long enough to see the larger, more beautiful theme in their story. The kind of theme they were too close to see for themselves. And then helping them hold it up to the light.
Somewhere along the way I discovered that story is one of the most underestimated tools we have to heal. That reimagining our own narrative can be its own path toward wholeness.
That belief is what gave birth to Little Star, the story I wish someone had given me when I was small, and an invitation to every person who has ever been told they were too much, too loud, or too bright.
Today, I spend my days writing a new book series based on my beloved hometown of Dana Point, and speaking on the transforming power of imagination.
If this resonates, The Spark is where I keep the conversation going — a monthly newsletter on imagination and wonder, books worth reading, and updates on my writing and speaking. Sign up below!
